Joweria Zalwango, wife of presidential candidate Mubarack Munyagwa of the Common Man’s Party (CMP), has called on residents of Kalungu Central in Kalungu District to support her husband in the upcoming 2026 general elections.
Speaking to a large gathering in her home village, Zalwango emphasised Munyagwa’s vision and capability to lead Uganda toward social and economic transformation.
She highlighted his leadership qualities and experience, drawing parallels between his ability to manage family responsibilities and his potential to manage national affairs.
The event was part of Munyagwa’s ongoing nationwide campaign to promote the CMP and its platform, which focuses on social transformation, improved healthcare, education, and infrastructure development.
The Kalungu rally attracted significant attention, with residents showing varying reactions some expressing strong support for Munyagwa’s message of change, while others remained skeptical about a new party’s ability to challenge the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) after four decades in power.
Munyagwa’s campaign continues to center on empowering ordinary Ugandans and encouraging citizen participation in shaping the country’s future, positioning the CMP as a party committed to inclusive development and accountability.
